||Jedi Records: Tython||

One of the original production Models of the Corellian Defender line, the Asto Vidatu has switched hands numerous times over the years. Eventually the ship fell in to the hands of Master Prajak of the Jedi Order who used it to run special operations for the council. To that end several additions were made to the interior. Including an electronic warfare suite and state of the art encrypted communications which Master Prajak installed herself. The council included an Artifact Nullification locker and keeps the ship supplied with nullification resin. It was Master Prajak who gave the Asto Vidatu her name as well as her distinctive blue and silver paint job which contrasted it from the standard red and white. The paint job was special in one other respect the paint had a small amount of Neuranium dust mixed in to it, while this was not a plating it did cause an obfuscation of scanner rendering them unreliable at best when attempting to scan the Asto Vidatu. This was bolstered by the composite Agrinium armored hull of the ship. The down side to this was that The Asto Vidatu as very light armor instead relying primarily on speed, maneuverability and its shields for defense. The lightweight Agrinium minorily counter acts the Neuranium dust in weight bringing the ship to a reasonable lift capability. The final upgrade Master Prajak made to the ship was to integrate specially designed escape/boarding pods in to the ship. The pods could be used both as escape pods but also to assault a vessel much in the way droid assault pods are used, impacting a vessel cutting in and opening dropping off the people inside.   The Asto Vidatu was Master Prajak’s personal ship and home for ten years before bringing another friendly living person on board in her Padawan Sovin. Sovin has changed the look of the ship extensively after inheriting it from Master Prajak.

||OOC Data on The Asto Vidatu||

The current owner Sovin inherited it from her former Master along with the operations it had been equipped to support. She immediately threw herself in to heavily modifying the ship a process she had already begun while working with Master Prajak once she showed the aptitude. She had already modified the flight controls and the engine to some degree at the time of Master Prajak’s passing.  These modifications kicked in to an even higher state and extended to the rest of the ships systems as Sovin reworked the entire ship, converting rooms, upgrading defenses and armaments. Most notably and strikingly visually is the integration of a Rakatan force drive core in to her ships systems as well as other Rakatan technology give the ship a distinctive profile. This combined with the specialized power conversion module and the duel phase shield array cause The Asto Vidatu to bear an eerily holocron like appearance. This drive system allows the ship to run “silent” with respect to conventional sensors switching to propulsion via Force. Operating the Asto Vidatu like this requires at minimum one person to power the drive core and one person to fly, it’s preferable that both are Force users the more powerful the more efficient the system works. When done efficiently the agility of The Asto Vidatu in this mode is extraordinary. This stealth mode has several disadvantages in sub light operations it cuts the Asto Vidatu’s speed in half as well as causing a drop in overall energy output. The conversion module partially corrects this but still leaves the lasers at twenty- five percent strength and the shields at seventy – five percent of optimal. In hyperspace flight this mode causes the ship to only be able to travel to and from worlds strong in the Force. Tython to Korriban for example would be silent and easy, whereas Coruscant to Nar Shaddaa would not be possible. One final note in reference to the propulsion system the power conversion module can be used to boost the Asto Vidatu’s speed when the ship is functioning in normal mode, though doing so in Hyperspace causes some unusual distortive affects aboard the Asto Vidatu ranging from temporal displacement to hallucinations or visions. It’s best to sleep or meditate for as much of the journey as possible assuming someone is not powering the drive core at the moment.

The final two modifications Sovin has added to The Asto Vidatu are the security system and the E.I.S Detention unit. Sovin also installed a multilayer defense system to keep unwanted guests from coming aboard during times when the ship is docked. It’s purportedly quiet lethal and as to date none have been able to enter the ship undetected or alive without prior authorization. The security system uses technological, biological and force sensitivity in its multi-layer defense. The E.I.S Detention Unit is a holding cell built in to a room on the lower deck. E.I.S stands for Enhanced Interrogation Suite, and the room is specifically designed with particular respect to those attuned to the Force.

All of these modifications make the Asto Vidatu a very stealthy fast ship with reasonable but limited weaponry and light defenses. She’s preferable for covert operations and quick strikes over a straight up fight or prolonged space battle. The Asto Vidatu also makes an excellent recon, valuable for rapid insertion or exfiltration and singular person detention vessel. All which perfectly aligns to the assignments that Master Prajak use to get and that Sovin does get now.
